Title of first talk:
Apache Kafka & Analytics in a connected IoT World
Abstract:
IoT initiatives are creating increased data volumes that require businesses to more accurately monitor and analyze trends. One key challenge is the integration of backend IoT data logs and applications, business services and cloud services to process the data in real time and at scale. In this session, we’ll share how organizations are gaining valuable insights into their business with event streaming using Apache Kafka, combined with other modern technologies for agile analytics. Learn how you can connect devices to your data hub for real-time IoT data analysis of use, prevention and customer 360 insights.
Bio:
Kai Waehner works as Sr Solutions Engineer, Advanced Technology Group at Confluent. Kai’s main area of expertise lies within the fields of Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning / Deep Learning, Cloud / Hybrid Architectures, Messaging, Integration, Microservices, Stream Processing, Internet of Things and Blockchain. Speaker Two:
Oliver Thamm, Co-Founder and Lead Engineer at Xapix
Title of second talk:
Building Physical Industrial IoT Models with Kafka
Abstract:
Visualizing practical, physical event streaming solutions to Industrial IoT customers is quite a challenge. At Xapix we build physical models and virtual simulators to explain use cases and applications to potential customers. This helps us to drive digitization in the German industry and Mittelstand. In this Kafka Meetup, we get hands-on and show how you can build an IIoT model with Kafka and Xapix on your own.
Bio:
Oliver is a software architect and senior Ruby on Rails developer. As an API, hypermedia, and Ruby enthusiast, he believes that plug & play APIs can easily fix the most complex business problems. He co-founded Xapix in 2015 to build a flexible and user-friendly platform that helps solve any data integration and orchestration challenge. It’s a preferred backend tool for connected vehicles and IIoT services. By bridging new and existing systems like APIs, it helps companies across the board to access, use, and monetize their data.

Virtuelles MeetUp zum Thema Linux Performance [Software Engineering Community]

date_range30. September, 15:00 Uhr - 16:30 Uhr
